Back in 2004, before NSAgate, I thought it was just a typical GOP poop nugget for the End of Days crowd. Now I get it. To Karl, George, Dick, Rummy, Condi, and the whole before and after crowd 9-11 is their justification for all that has come since. So, here is a partial list of those many things that are sooooo before 9-11, as they see it:

Bad news, really bad news, and this bunch drops the word Republican.
Not just a preference, either. Marketing research all over the GOPoshere shows that Average American thinks that a "congressman" or "member of congress" is a fat, flushed faced Democrat with shady deal or two. Without the word Republican, that is where we are headed.
Fight back.
Never say or write the word 'congress' in relation to this scandal without the word Republican along side. If we don't look out for ourselves. . .

While discussing the pending plea of Abramoff, a wise insighter with whom I was conversing, noted that the real story is the race to the DA's door. The NYT piece is probably a heads-up to all the other rats that the time is now to jump ship and sing like the birdie.

Keep an eye out for increased activity as the Abramoff plea announcement nears. That is if he gets a deal. By the time, the stampede to the DA's door is over poor Mr.Abramoff may have nothing to offer but useless confirmations. Or, he may have to come up with something so big that he and he alone can tell the tale.
